The downward flow of a paint or powder that is applied too heavy or onto a hot surface.
油漆或粉末喷涂太厚或喷在预热的表面，从而使涂膜往下往下流动。
Salt Spray Test 盐雾试验
Corrosion test using salt laden moist air in an enclosed chamber, the air can be acidic. This test is used as a common method for expressing corrosion resistance of a coating system.
在密闭盐雾室中的腐蚀试验。这种雾也可以是酸性的，这种试验是表述涂层耐腐蚀性能一个通用的方法。
Sand Blast 喷砂设备
Blast cleaning using sand or an abrasive to remove corrosion by impact. Sand blasting is a dangerous process banned in many countries. Other blast abrasives such as iron, steel or aluminium are recommended.
使用砂子或一种研磨介质通过冲击移除腐蚀物的喷抛清理，喷砂是一个危险的过程，一些国家被取缔，其它的研磨剂如铁丸、钢丸或被推荐的铝丸。
Saponification 皂化
* Alkaline hydrolysis of fats to make soaps.
* Test for coating resistance to an alkaline environment.
* Hydrolysis of an ester by an alkali.

Rust occurring in layers, commonly found on hot rolled steel

Screen Mesh筛网
The filter used to seperate large powder particles and contaminants from usable powder. A screen mesh is used in powder production after grinding and in powder reclaim systems application equipment.
把粉末分离出大的粒子和污染物成为可用的粉末的过滤物，在粉末研磨后使用筛网生产，在粉末喷涂时回收系统也使用筛网。
Screen Mesh Size 筛网尺寸
The mesh number of a screen designates the openings per square inch or the wire.
筛网目数，每平方英寸的孔数。
Soils 污点
Foreign matter on a part of the substrate to be cleaned in a pre-treatment system.

Mixture formed when one material is dissolved into a liquid.

Solvent 溶剂
Liquid or blend of liquids used to dissolve or disperse paint. A true solvent is a liquid that can dissolve the paint resin.
在油漆中起溶解和分散作用的液体或液体混合物，真正的溶剂是一个能够溶解油漆树脂的液体。
Solvent Wash 溶剂清洗
Cleaning using a degreasing solvent or mixture of solvents (often referred to as "gun wash")

Specific Gravity 比重
Sg. An expression of density of a material relative to the density of water (always classed as 1) A typical powder coating has a sg of 1.5 - 1.8. Mileage of a powder coating is affected by sg. high sg = low mileage.
Sg，材料密度相对于水的密度（一般为1）的表达，一般粉末的密度为1.5~1.8，一般对粉末的喷涂面积的影响是：比重越高，喷涂面积越低。
Specular Gloss 镜面光泽
Mirror like reflectance, gloss measured at a specific angle.
镜面反射系数，以一个特定的角度测量光泽。
Spray Chamber 喷雾室
An enclosure that surrounds the pre-treatment process and contains the spray cloud.
一个包围预处理过程和喷雾团的箱室。
Spray Pattern 雾化状态
Configuration of the spray leaving the powder gun.
粉末离开粉末喷枪时的雾化状态。
Storage Stability 贮存稳定性
The ability of the coating to maintain uniform physical and chemical properties subject to the manufacture'rs specification (time and temperature).
